Why is the Logo Protected?

The logo is exactly six squares wide by six squares high. The Clearspace Area is simply calculated by adding one X Unit all around the logo. In total, this creates an area of eight squares wide by eight squares high.As the University’s most valued visual symbol, the logo must be clearly identified on all material. This is why it is protected by clearspace which must be kept free of other graphic devices, type and photographic elements. The clearspace helps maintain the impact and integrity of the logo and ensures consistent, high-quality results. To calculate the Clearspace Area, divide the area the logo occupies into squares. Each square is called an X Unit as seen in the diagram below.

Proportional Grid

For maximum quality the stacked or horizontal logos should be reproduced from digital artwork wherever possible. In situations where this is not possible, such as large-scale media or signage, use the Proportional Grids depicted below as a guide to ensure reproduction accuracy.

Important - Always reference or attach the approved University PMS colours with the Proportional Grid.

Competitive Set

When the University brand is used in competition to other Universities or companies on material such as programs and sponsorship, the horizontal Competitive Set Logo must be used.
