Inaugural Director/CEO of the Grattan Institute appointed

University of Melbourne graduate Dr John Daley has been appointed Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Grattan Institute, the new national public policy institute being established in Melbourne. The University of Melbourne is one of the four founding members of the Institute along with the Commonwealth of Australia, the State of Victoria, and BHP Billiton. It is Australia's first independent, non-aligned and evidence-driven public policy think tank.

University and partners celebrate knowledge transfer

Adolescents, AFL players and a rural community are among the groups benefiting from projects awarded Excellence Awards in the second year of the Vice-Chancellor's Knowledge Transfer Awards. Five award-winning knowledge transfer projects were presented to a large audience at the Vice-Chancellor's Knowledge Transfer Awards and Symposium held at the Melbourne Law School on Thursday 25 September.

The Eastern Precinct - a public learning space

The Eastern Precinct project at the Parkville campus continues to surprise and delight the University community in many ways as the latest refurbished area for students, the new Frank Tate Learning Centre, becomes available. The Frank Tate Learning Centre opened to students on Monday 8 September and is the second stage of the Eastern Precinct project.
